Yes I would like to hear from the title companies too. Maybe some of them will give us their opinion and policies concerning offshore outsourcing.

I didn't take Ashish's call seriously either. In fact I too found it more humorous than threatening. But his company obviously doesn't find it humorous and if Ashish is to be believed some of us here have already lost business to them.

I can remember too how humorous we thoght it was in the 50's when Japan began shipping their cheap junk products over here. We all laughed until American companies began closing. But these were all manufacturers and we were told we would always have the service industries.

I have returned some searches to clients when I found they were outside of the scope of my ability and recommended that I either needed more information or they might need the services of a full title plant. The Cell phone searches discussed here are some of these also many of the SBA searches that were issued a few years ago. I remember one of these where the only information provided was the first name of the borrower and the state of Texas. (grin)

I haven't returned a search as "unworkable" just because it took me out of the scope of the computer databases and into the dark dusty books in the basement. But I can see some clients accepting this if I was doing the easy searches for a fraction of market value.

I wonder where Ashish is in this conversation. It seems to me he would want to defend his company.
