Anyone can buy the disc for $79, however, the threat lies in the building of a Title plant. To setup, maintain and continually update takes a tremendous amount of time, money and manpower...something DataTrace/FirstAmerican/LandAmerica has ALOT of.

Also, be aware..the $79 is for one disc, God only knows how many discs it takes to get ALL the docs.
In my county alone we are up to approx 8,300 deed books alone. And about the same # of mortgage books

My initial anger has now turned to resignation, especially after meeting with our County Clerk who claims all the clerks in NJ are being intimidated with the threats of heavy fines..etc. if they do not comply.

DataTrace has an entire stable of attornies who do nothing but take on the clerks, study the Public Records Act etc...

It's a big Legal mess and I'm not optimistic when my future in this business depends on :

A: Lawyers
B:Insurance Companies
C:Government Bureaucrats

I mean , can you get a worse lineup ?

Especially here in NJ ...THE most corrupt state in the US in terms of government/big business
