Hey Angelica,

I just want to make sure I understand your situation. Your separate abstract company did title searches for the title company that you no longer work for, and there was no written agreement for delayed payment until June? Did I get it right?

If that is the case, I would follow your normal collections proceedures, phone calls, collection letter, formal collection letter, then off to a collection agency or small claims court (but it sounds like they owe too much for that route). DOCUMENT EVERYTHING, phone calls, letters, everything. I've always hated heading down that road, but you have bills and people to pay as well.

Good luck with starting your own title company, you are braver than I in that area and I wish you well. I've seen what the 15th and the end on the month do to the people in title companies (CRAZY). Keep us updated. Jay
