"Master, Searcher" Its a local term that was coined to describe the abstractors that have been in the business a long time, and are most of the time VERY knowledgable.
Unfortunely they also tend (not all) have underpaid, overworked, "runners" under them that take over every aspect of the courthouse, The tables, the chairs, the computers, the copiers, and have obtained a large percentage of the "LOCAL" client base and more often than not, live at the courthouse.
They tend to hate anything or anyone involved with the Internet, that would include SOT.
I had one of them approach me and ask me how i get work if im not in the courthouse ALL DAY LONG, i told him that i couldn't diverge that information. He continued to ask me "What is it a secret?" I said "I cant tell you, sorry". From that day forward he looks at me like i cursed his mother out on her death bed.
Thats the short definition...
