Monica, It is great to find buried treasure. When Franklin county began filming old records many years ago in a haphazard way, much was lost in the county. Fortunatly most of the documents were forwarded to the Ohio Historical Society, which did a great job of lovingly and carefully filming and archiving the information.
We also had a salesperson at one of the oldest title agencies in town throw out a bunch of "old stuff" several years ago to make room for promotional items. Included was one of the few copies of the atlas of Columbus showing property lines and existing utilities from about 1890. Don't know about there, but many of our old sewer lines are unrecorded easements.
Anyway, you may consider your state historical society for preservation of what you found. May make funding easier, and they generally have actual archivists.
I'm going to listen to the Randy Newman Songbook tonight, old tunes done in stripped down versions, pretty neat.
Look forward to meeting you, Doug
