I am sorry that you got taken advantage of Judy. I can't believe that anyone would even have an abstractor course. The only way to "really" learn how to do it is to do it with someone every day so that you can see what they are doing and how they are doing it. Sometimes people that are selling these courses are trying to take advantage of people and make it look easier to learn than it really is. I have been doing title work for roughly 8 years and I still learn something new every day. I could not imagine taking a "course" and feeling comfortable enough to go out and become an independent abstractor. The liabilty is too costly and the first time you have a claim filed against you, good luck on finding cheap e&o insurance and being able to find new clients to work for.
I hope this alerts everyone about the risk in wanting to become "rich" in the title business. It is not as easy as it looks.
