I know how you feel. I work in some of the worse counties in Maryland as far as cut throat. I have to cover the orders for the companies I do the work for too. I do not even attempt to fill out the search order forms in the courthouse, I wait til I get in the car and I hired someone to help me write my titles up. I have been verbally attacked by one man that told me that if I did any work for any companies that he does work for, that he would make sure that I never did title work again in Maryland; he did this in front of all of the abstractors and attorneys in the land records. My husband went off on him right there.  
I have lost at least 3 companies to one man that went down to $35 for a current owner when I  was getting $45-$50 for them. I lost about $4,000 a month because of him. No one in these courthouses are going to "set" a price.
I just have to hang in there and pray that I will stay true to the companies I have and continue to give the best work in the counties that I cover, which I believe I do.
