SET THE PRICE! - Kurt deVries/FL

Kudos Shannon,

The "Newbies" and price cutters are the reason we all feel the crunch of pricing. I used to charge $60 for a current owner search across the board. We do work in 5 states. Now my clients call and say so and so does a current owner for $30. WHY? I ask. Why drop so much. 5 bucks here and there is ok to do. Ala, Wal-Mart and Target. But, a $30 drop!! Do you think that the client has dropped their price of closing 50%?? Hardly. My question again is............why make 30 when you could make 50? I know I get on my soap box about this and others have read my rantings already....sorry SOT!

If we had standard pricing.....the clients would HAVE to pay that to get their work done. UNITE my brothers and sisters!!! LOL.
However, let's help eachother out with some professional courtesy though. When I call a fellow abstractor to get a deed for me I don't expect to pay $30 for it. C'mon, I do searches in my home state for others for $35 so they can make a little money too. Once in a while is ok, remember not to take advantage!!  Have a great day all.

Kurt
