Okay,
It is very hard to get some title companies to try someone "new" if they are comfortable with the abstractor they have. You can call the nationwide title companies on the "HOT LIST" and let them know that you are available in whatever counties you cover. You are not going to get any companies with 2 months experience, period. There are some title companies that require 2 years experience before they will use you. I have been doing abstracting for 8 years and it took me 3 to weed out the companies that I do not want or that don't want me, for that fact.
Send a letter, along with a copy of your e&o policy, (I have never seen a company give an abstractor a policy with that little experience). I had to do over 500 closings before some lenders will let me do their settlements.
I am not trying to be hard on you, I was there before, but I did not feel "comfortable" in 1 year to go out on my own. Be very careful.
It takes a while, you will have to endure "the famine before the feast".
Good luck.
Loretta, Prosperity Abstracting, LLC
