You better start blaming someone, this abstracting field can go to the dogs and become like a "dishwasher" position where anyone can label themself an abstractor and not be one.
You started this conversation, Judy, did you not? Seems to me that you were looking for an argument when you posted on the forum. You sometimes say things to start a debate, whether you like it or not, Judy.
Sometimes things are better off left unsaid. I, along with my other fellow abstractors, especially in Maryland, will not accept people calling themselves an abstractor who is not qualified to be called such. If someone comes to m, a beginning abstractor and need an answer, I will surely answer it to the best of my ability or I will find the correct answer for you. I know abstractors that have been in the business for 25 years and still learn something new every day. Some abstrators can make up their applicaation to make a company more appealing to them. I have spoken with at least 3 in the past 8 years that have done just that just to get an abstractor job.
I may have a small business but I won't lose my home due to an error on my part.
Sometimes the truth is harsh but necessary for someone to see black and white.
