Judy,
I am all for helping new abstractors that get thrown into the courthouse by a company that has taught them for a week before throwing them out into the courthouse. I really feel sorry for them and will help them if I can.
I would like to know what Kurt in Florida that posts messages on here frequently does to train his abstractors. This is a man that is doing exactly what other companies are afraid of. He is training in-house abstractors and paying
them an hourly wage or a weekly salary. I am not saying that he personally is doing anything that would be shady as far as training them properly before sending them to do a title. When you said that new abstractors are not asking questions because it is not the friendliest atmosphere here, the only problem there is about the website, they get the hard truth about title business and they don't like it.
Robert and Jay are seasoned in this business and they tell the hard truth too.
Call TitlePac in Oklahoma (I think) and Chesapeake Insurance in Annapolis, MD and they will tell you that the increase in new abstractors / title companies are to blame for the increase of e&o insurance.
There is no newbie bashing here, only the facts.
