The good thing is you already have knowledge of the documents.  What you need to learn is really best to do by hands on training.  Those on line classes do not give you good enough information to go out and do searches, especially since those classes are not based on your areas.  Try a community college nearby.  Ours here offer abstracting classes.  With that under your belt, you shouldn't have any problems finding a position with a title company or attorney.
It really is important to have someone experienced train you.  The hard part will be finding the right place to do it.
