Assignments in Virginia are not required to be filed, but the ones that are, are supposed to be filed by borrowers name and lender. The retrieval searches I do for this I search by borrowers name (and tax id if able). To run the lenders is almost imposible due to the hundreds of entries. It woul djust take way too long. Not all the clerks index the legal description for us.
