Unfortunately it various county to county. Some counties go lender to lender and you will never find it even with the date of instrument because assignments are not a top priority for recording. We have found some 2 to 4 years after the date of instrument, I'm sure others have found even longer recording dates after the date of the assignment. Compound that with a lender that assigns all their loans to another lender (hundreds if not thousands) and it can get CRAZY!!! Counties that go grantor (borrower) to another lender are easier to find. (imho) Jay
