Shannon,
One thing with online access is that "typically" it only goes back a few years with most counties. I used to do some data retrieval work for Va Beach online and they only went back a couple of years at that time. That is also the case with what I do with a lot of the data retrieval that I do for TN. There are a lot of counties that are "online" but either they dont go back very far, or are missing data. One catch with online data is that there is human error in entering, indexing, etc. In the past I have seen names index backwards, mispellings, incorrect indexing of document, etc. I have also had the lovely pleasure of going to pull up a document and download a 500kb file that is nothing but a blank piece of paper with "No Image Available" printed on it.
I remember some things that I ran across with Va Beach access was indexed items missing scans, scans being filed wrong (clicking on a name and someone elses document come up for that name) etc. I wish I could come up with specific examples but that was close to a year ago.
Btw, I thought there were 4 counties in Va online. Va Beach, Prince William, Pulaski, and Mannasas.
