Perhaps you can just keep all the companies you had on the list and have a seperate colum on it and call it the complaint column.  Mark by numbers how many people have had issues with that company (1, 2, 3. etc..).  That way we can each decide on our own if we want to attempt to do work for that particular company. Then we can't say we weren't warned somehow.
