I agree. It is the government that is making this information available and this is the best place to stop it. In Texas and I believe other states it is the state government that is forcing this issue with the counties.

I don't blame the countries overseas. The blame belongs with the federal, state and county governments we have entrusted  to  control  the decimination of the  documents; . I doubt many have even considered the full consequences of making this information available on the internet. Some are taking a second look as a result of the law suits. But it seems many are simply looking for ways around the privacy laws they previously passed.

I saw a program recently concerning outsourcing to India. The employees there were being paid something like $6.00 a day. That's right, a day. I doubt that the borrower  really cares how much of the closing cost is for the search going out of the country. I do think many will care that their private information is being published to anyone with an internet connection.

In Texas, the politicians here have already discovered the dangers and passed new laws to protect THEMSELVES. After the Central Appraisal Districts began making their information available over the internet laws were passed that allowed government officials and police officers to have their record with the Central Appraisal District kept confidential. The average citizen has no such right.
