Hi Jay,
Actually the system is composed of several hardware and software components. I don't mean to seem elusive but I really don't want to go into details in a public forum. I would be happy to share with you privately.
We image onsite using capshare when it is allowed at the courthouse or multifunction machines in the mobile office when it isn't. I haven't tried the docupen but it would probably work also. The drawbacks I have seen with the docupen is the inability to see what has been captured and the inability to gather the documents together before uploading to the computer. I am also unconfortable with using non rechargeable batteries. Not so much from a cost factor but from a reliability factor. But this is just my preference.
My point in posting was to point out that the problem really isn't completing a current owner search in 6-8 hours. The problem was in the receit and delivery of the orders. From the clients perspective the clock started when they sent the order. But we didn't see the order until we returned to the office at the end of the day. Now we receive the orders in the field and fax or email them back to the client upon completion.
