If all of these documents were not part of the search work that you previously did for this company - naturally like Jay says - I wouldn't front the recording fees but also in addition - I would call and let them know that for recording documents without doing any searches involves a fee in addition to the recording fees.  Otherwise, you could end up spending a lot of time (which is money) on these freebies.  Every company I have ever worked at and my own company - charges a "handling" fee for processing documents and submitting them to the courthouse for those documents that were not included in any of the orders placed by their company to me. They shouldn't have a problem with that, especially since the docs were rejected for one reason or another previously.
