The reason that everyone gives the same advice on abstracting is because it is the most practical way to learn the business.  Yes, one can take college courses which is great, but there is no substitute for learning the ins and outs on a day to day basis while working for a title company. Going into business for yourself is a huge and risky undertaking, one should have as much experience as possible before doing so if they expect their business to flourish. More power to you if can do this without on the job training, but it really is unwise advice.  Also, I think that is totally unnecessary to call someone moronic and idiotic for giving practical advice, it is not to discourage anyone, but there really is alot to know in this business.
