Do you charge the same for each county or do you charge more for the counties farther out? We actually charge more for our closest one simply because it is in the city and they are outrages with their copy charges... $10.50 for the first page and if it is certified another $2. We have one customer who invariably wants a map. I sent all our customers original copies from each county showing their copy cost. We had someone recently say he will pay only $1 per page because Abstractors are always "inflating" their cost.

Thank you for sharing how you work things. I know everyone is afraid of sharing what they charge because of being low balled... so are we. This type of info does help though for those of us trying to not do that to anyone. I know we can't really set a fixed rate because of all the variables across the nation but at least we can agree on things like "rush" fees, copy cost etc.
