Interesting - I found the following at http://www.50statenotary.com/ezine/issue35.html. It specifically references the same guy, William Stephen. How many different course names and web sites does he offer this course under?

UPDATE ON TITLE ABSTRACTOR TRAINING COURSE
In Issue 34 of The Notary News, I provided the URL of a company that provides a Title Abstractor Training Course on the internet. The URL I referenced was http://www.realestateschoolonline.com/TitleAbstractorCourse.htm
After publishing this information I received the following email from a notary subscriber who had personal knowledge about this training course:
Victoria, I am writing to address the title abstracting training questions. I have been working on learning title abstracting over the past few months. It is a very complicated process. There are many aspects and it has a high liability rate. E&O insurance is hard to get and ranges from around $1000 to $3000 a year. It is especially hard to get in California.
I took the online course you refer to and it really is a sham. There is so much to learn and William Stephen does not cover nearly what he should. It was a total waste of money.
