I think the time is fast approaching when all of the title experts on SOT are going to have to consider diversifying their services in order to survive the presure to reduce their prices from out sourching, thin title plants and the title companies playing one searcher off against another to get the reduction. Surveying is a unique and highly trained discipline,and their services should be invited and included in a marketing effort.
I just read your monthly news letter...excellent call to arms. We really do need to find a way to market the combined skills of the abstractors, appraisers, surveyors, signing agents and attorneys of SOT into some cohesive service, and market it to the title companies in a manner that is going to be cost effective to them, competitive with the automated systems and still profitable for those whose services are being marketed. The longer it takes to organize and effectuate it, the more difficult it becomes.
