Back in July, I contacted the education dept. of ALTA about the certification we were working on. Not necessarily to get their opinion or support, but since I am a member of ALTA as well, I wanted information of their education seminars and such. To see what we may need to incorporate in to our certification standards. To find out what they looked for in an abstractor as far as knowledge and experience.
The reply I received was that ALTA was not interested in helping or supporting NALTEA's certification program at this time and they were unable to give me an information on their education requirements because I was not an agency, Also that they were not able to help me, a member, learn the necessary things to be able to better serve my title company clients. I was told their organization was more for the insurance companies and large title companies who had their own abstractors and since I was not an agency they were unable to assist me.
So as a member, what do I get?? NOTHING!
