Robin: here is another idiot posting. - Shannon Blatt/VA

This is my response to you ROBIN:

This forum was created by Robert for all people in this business to be a place where people can get advise, share their comments whether good or bad about their clients and to get good information in general.  You can see thru the many pages of postings in this forum, if you take the time to do so, that we all on here comment about many different issues.  Alot of people like to be able to see what others are having problems with when it comes to bad clients not paying and new laws and such.
Then there are those people who decide they want to break in to this business.  And that is fine. Good luck to them.  BUT, when they come here, to ask the advise of the people who frequent these message boards, they do it for a reason.  What is that reason???  Perhaps that they have seen what we all talk about and they know we are experienced and have done this for long it is now second nature and we might just know what we are talking about.  They trust our responses and that we will give them good advise.  If they do not like what we say, they certainly don't have to listen to us. But when you can get the same response from 5 or more people, I tend to think that the advise being given is good.

And I will say it again, online courses can give you basics but in no way can teach you everything you need to know to go out on your own and start your new career.  It is this in-experience that has caused the rise of e&o rates and the need for a national certification.

As for your other comments:  If you find it best for me to not recommend advise to anyone, why don't you give me a reason why I should not do so.  What shameful moronic unprofessional advise did I give?  And what advise I did give WASN'T TO YOU!  This site is here for the good of all of us.  If you decide that you do not like it, please don't come back.  Or make such comments to anyone unless you have something to back it up with.
In the past, anyone who has asked the question "How to I become an abstractor" has always gotten the same advise, whether from me, Robert, Jay or anyone else who frequents here.  Get a job with a company or an attorney who can train you.  It isn't a joke and it does happen.  And yes this business is filled with backstabbing people and those who do not want to help others.  But you can not assume that everyone is like that unless you really know them.
Everyone here does consider themselves professionals.  And if you disagree, please keep your comments to yourself.  Don't read that persons postings then and don't comment.

And as for your direct slam on me.  I am a professional.  I own my own business and have been in this field for almost 14 years.  I was trained by a title company and by attorneys.  I know my job and I do it well and I am always going to offer advise when and where I can if it is asked for. And I even train people new to the business.  SO If you want to make bad judgments about me, you should know me first,  others on here know me, some personally, and I am sure they do not think I am a moronic unprofessional with bad advise.

Thanks.
