Hey Judy,

I think you can easily use the files on your CD/RW.  Just copy them back onto your hard drive when you get the PC back, select them all (CONTROL+A), right-click on one of the selected files, select properties, and un-check the 'READ ONLY' box.  This should restore your read/write ability on all of the files again - they just have to be on your hard drive, I don't think this will work on the CD.
