In my view, the only people with a need to know are those who live in the jurisdiction respnsible for the distribution of the public record or those willing to travel within that jursidiction.
A case could be made that some might have a legitimate need for some of the records. But who can justify the release of my records because my neighbor applied for a loan? I believe fair credit laws prevent the credit reporting agencies from acting in this manner but they compell government to release this same information in bulk form. Can you imagine asking a credit bureau to give you all the names, home addresses, social security numbers for everyone living in a given county?
Only two laws need be passed to stop the hemoraghing of the lives of the American public.
1. No person, government agency allowed to release or offer to release the public record in bulk form.
2. No person, government agency, or corporation foreign or domestic is allowed to make public records available over the internet in such a way as to make the record available to any but the intended single entity.
