David, I couldn't agree with you more, I think the more public attention we draw to these facts, the more people will be outraged.  I still find this very hard to swallow, especially in light of new legislation like the Patriots Act (which I'm not really thrilled about). US citizens are probably more scrutinized these days more than ever before, however we allow personal and sensitive information to be exported, go figure. I had opened a new checking account a while back and had to go through more compliance issues than I can tell you. Probably easier to get a VISA to some other country!
