I second the suggestion for becoming a Mobile Notary Signing Agent. You'd be much better off than sitting at the computer trying to go through docs to find leads. It's a great way to boost income, even possibly becoming your sole income. I hope I am not advertising for anyone here, and please forgive me, but I really like Victoria Ring. www.50statenotary.com. She puts out a great email newsletter too. There is also no comparison to what the National Notary Association can help you with in getting going. They even called me at home and invited me to a seminar in my area. When I couldn't afford it, they called back later and offered me a reduced rate. Those people are great. The only thing with being a notary is you have to be able to be patient and deal well with people, plus FOLLOW all the rules. There are lots of sites to get your name on for free in their directory too. I really don't advise paying to have your name placed on a web site directory. You can get enough coverage and work from the free ones. www.notaryrotary.com is awesome. I get at least 10 calls a week from that site from NEW companies. Oh, and by the way, lol, when I can not do a signing for a company, I refer them to www.sourceoftitle.com, for which I even got a call back from TWO companies saying thanks for introducing them to this website they were so happy. It increased their choices for notaries in my area. No, I am not crazy for turning away business. I don't look it at that way, I look at it as helping someone else out there! Good luck to you. Abstracting is fun too, maybe you can help your sister when your child gets into preschool?
Merry Christmas, jen
