Hey Donna,

we are looking into E and O policies that would offer reduced rates for abstractors, hence one of the reasons for a certification program.  Some companies are waiting to see what kind of requirements will be enforce to gain NALTEA certification prior to them making any kind of commitments, which is totally understandable.

We have done our best to make the conference as affordable as we can for everyone, totally taking into account most abstractors are 1 or 2 person operations.  You will not be able to find a lower registration fee anywhere.  That is why we found a hotel for $79 a night instead of $279.  We also planned it for this weekend to allow for the extra travel day since the courthouses will be closed Monday for Martin Luther King's Birthday.

I'm sorry you can't make it, but we will keep you up to date via the SOT and NALTEA (www.naltea.org) web-sites.
