Loretta, GAC was my first customer as an independent a few years ago.  For about 2 years, they sent me a lot, a lot of work for a couple of counties--rural ones.  The work they have sent me for 2004-2005  has decreased greatly.  They now want you to type search info. online & then you are a "preferered vendor".  Do you go to their website & check out your info & their average prices from other abstractors?  I really don't check it anymore except to give them status reports etc. My price is higher/lower depending on what they have posted for the month but they still send me  orders and they told me "they are slow".   I haven't reduced fees at all and  won't; probably need to increase.  They will give you a 99 if you type the search online and you will get all the work in that county.   It is such a pain in the butt to type the search online if you have a long legal.  I don't think GAC is loyal.  So I don't rely on them, or an any one company for income.  But I still do their work in a timely manner and I like that they auto-pay, as do a lot of companies using that gator system.
