Judy,
The answer is SOOOOOOO simple!!!! One company, (we shall call them Jesus, Inc.), works within a moral and ethical business plan. They offer an honest days pay for an honest days work, taking a portion of their revenue, backing out overhead and investing the remaining balance back into their company via employee salaries, benefits, technological advances, marketing, etc........The second company, (we shall call them Damien, Inc.), DOES THE EXACT OPPOSITE OF JESUS, INC and through it all, somehow, someway, STAYS IN BUSINESS. Try doing what Countywide Abstract, Inc. has done.....accept an order, process it, button it up real tight...nice and neat....every "i" dotted and "t" crossed, then SIT ON IT!!! When they call for a status check or to question where it is at, demand a faxed copy of remittance on your invoice to them, along with an overnight air bill. State that upon receipt of said check, you will process out their search. In the long run, that will be the last file you ever service for them....or....as Countywide Abstract, Inc. found out, they will respect you and will NEVER mess around with the timely, proficient, efficient service you offer. Good luck my friend.....JT
PS - As one of my college professors once told me via email while getting my Masters in Business Management..."....never allow one client, vendor or service provider make or break your business. When business is bad, you should market, when business is good, you must market...."
