Hi Amanda- I know you and you are a good researcher.. Speaking from a company perspective- I think it is important to define your client to help decide how to handle it... As you know - there ARE are some "clients" that honestly could care less - they just want a "cheap price"- and dole stuff out with no legit client base of their own... (Won't mention names but some are name brand companies-  particularly in the criminal arena...)

Conversely, there are those clients with LEGITIMATE client bases and STAND ALOT TO LOSE...(Like: hospital associations, trucking companies, educational facilities where it is ABSOLUTELY IMPERATIVE RECORDS ARE NOT MISSED - and- federal laws are in place in the event bogus reporting is employed.).

I would gauge my response personally on the end user client- since they were once YOUR OWN clients (and now taken away on price)- you will know best the kind of searches they conduct for what end user...

In this regard- if you know your client stands to lose over these issues... Then were I in your situation - YES- I would ABSOLUTELY contact such companies - whomever the contact person is for you there- and clearly EXPLAIN to them that if they were unawares--- there is a database type system SOME researchers use that is NOT a courthouse search, not an acceptable search method , NOT ACCURATE and for this reason, bears big liabilities for them in the long haul since records are often missed- mis-interpreted- falsely reported- etc.... yet - these folks market themselves as court record researchers.  Bring to their attention that such information they are relying on is not LEGALLY - a "court record search".

I know of two large name brand companies that are in lawsuits even now- because they hired someone based on bogus criminal research- and the situatoin has snowballed down to the original provider... Everyone is getting dragged into it.... The result has been the client is now in a suit- their provider is now in a suit AND lost the account- which in turn- the researcher for said provider lost business.. .which in turn effects the opportunity out there for legit researchers like yourself.

I do alot of troubleshooting in this scenario and every company I know IMMEDIATELY wants to be informed when on site searches ARE NOT being conducted. (Again, because of the liability involved in false - NON COURT VERIFIABLE reports - liabilities like claims of slander- discrimination suits- etc.etc... I have seen all this manifest and MORE just from bogus runners- bogus brokers and the like.

I think personally you would be doing them a big service to apprise them that saving 50 cents on a name is NO savings when it costs them clients and reputation in the industry. And sure- COMPETE on price but if someone is pulling crap off IDOCKET - sorry- there is no comparison and any legitmate company would or SHOULD know that.

My two cents and I wish you well.... Best-
Ms. A
