Lisa,
I think you've missed some of my point here.  Do you think I would post this if I just wanted to make money off of you and everybody else. I published my findings for ALL to see.  If all I wanted was a cha-ching, don't you think I would have stayed silent and laughed at you (all the way to the bank!?!)  Silly that you think I was trying to hurt anybody or was being selfish. This was the exact opposite, but I guess in the abstracting world, people can only believe that someone is trying to hurt or undercut them.  I have only contacted 2 of the over 200 companies and asked them to reduce their price quote - those were based upon me already having somebody in that area offering the service at $35 and I asked someone to come from $50 to $45. Not that big of a deal, 1%

Sorry, but this was a WAKE UP POST for people.  I SIMPLY OFFERED UP THE OUTCOME OF MY STUDY.  TO HELP YOU  ---- NOT TO HURT YOU.

I would think that everybody would understand that by saying at $35 I can make a bunch of money off of you was a WAKE UP TO YOU THAT THE VMC ARE THINKING JUST THAT.

SECONDLY -  I've been in this business for a while now, I HAVE PERSONALLY conducted property research in over 60 counties in Michigan, Indiana, Ohio, Maryland and Virginia.  I have trained more than 30 abstractors and have worked with well over 200 companies nationwide. All before I ever started my own company.  I'm not going national because I NOW know that I can make money.  I'm going national because I have contacts all over the continent, and I am a smart businessman and I have 3 children to support.

When I was a VM for a VMC - I'd have researchers doing searches for $25 or $30 tops - that was 1998-2002.  IF ALL I WANTED WAS A CHA-CHING - DON'T YOU THINK I'D BE USING SOME OF THOSE ABSTRACTORS.

Look at it how you want to, I don't really care. This was put out there to help the little guy and now YOU CHOOSE TO BASH MY INTENT (stating all that I care about is the money), MY NAME AND MY COMPANY.

AFTER MY POST - LISA - YOU IMMEDIATELY RAISED YOUR $35.00 FEE TO $45.00 (I'm not kidding, within 1 hour of my post you sent me a price hike of 20%).  I'd say that my post has already COST me money.

Again, I guess that's what I get for opening my mouth and trying to educate people.  Maybe I should have kept quiet. Kept the information and gotten rich off of the strain of your back.  But I'm not made that way, I don't think that way.  That is why I am here helping everybody and not screwing them over.

You sent me an email, basically, yelling at me because I told you that I didn't have work in the Dallas area===="why did you waste my time and make me do all of the paperwork?"  That is because I intend on being in Texas sometime this year, however, YOU REPLIED TO A POST THAT STATED THAT my clients immediate needs are in "Ohio & Michigan."  That sure is a far cry from TEXAS.

Also, I didn't ask you to offer me a $35.00 pricetag. You did that voluntarily.  Then when I publish the findings of my study you make it out that it's my fault. 80% of my replies were at the $35.00 range, that's not my fault that is yours and/or the other companies that quoted me $35.00.

It seems to me that the cha-ching is coming from the other direction.  You thought if you offered me a $35.00 pricetag, YOU'D BE SEEING A BIG CHA-CHING in extra work in your area.  Didn't you?
