Well, that's what is going to happen here. They will have to update the title and then call someone to electronically file the document. I don't like the idea and I did not like the idea of online searches. I refuse to do them. Some counties here, you can do it but I will not do it.
The land records screen and the electronic (elroi system) are not correct.
I find misindexed mortgages and deeds every day. Either the names are misspelled or the book and page are typed incorrectly. They record the document and index it to exactly how the borrowers names are typed on the document. So, if the owner is Mary Smith and whoever typed the deed of trust typed it as Mary Smyth, it will be indexed that way. We have no way of knowing what happened, especially if the title company says that we missed a mortgage.
It is just going to get worse, I can feel it coming.
