Totally agree with the post, however, some of us are in states that we're competing with India for $5 current owner searches. We were just talking about this today in the office. Abstractors need to band together and make it painful for these companies to use overseas companies. When India calls my office to "help them" get a deed or copy they can't get ; $100 minimum just to look at it. I've seen at least a 60% or more decrease in re-fi work due to this problem. How do you compete with those prices? It's not even like I could match it. We've become a private investigative firm just to add another revenue stream.
