I got my subscription last night on line. Easy to do. Used my business debit card. Checked this morning and it went through my bank already.
I have written this before, I am so glad that I got your business card in Georgetown, SC in our Registry's break room. I don't know who put them there. Luckily, at that time the other independents didn't take a card. They were belittling the whole idea of someone trying to set something like this up. I had worked in that county for two years under an attorney before going out independent. The independents were friendly enough to me while I was employed but as soon as I went independent they changed. They were snubbing me and trying to keep business from me. The SOT listing sent business my way. Then when two new independents came to that area, I gave them the SOT hot list and told them all about SOT. They picked up business.
When I moved SOT was there giving me a place to announce that I was relocating. When I found out we were moving, the SOT directory was the first place that I announced it. I listed in the area that I was moving to with a start date.
Then the message board has educated me more than any other venue could. I think the message board should be closed to anyone who does not have a subscription. Then there won't be any camouflaged messages. I try to read messages on other message boards and it is like everyone is talking in code or a foreign language. Here if you don't comprehend what is being discussed you can ask questions and have them intelligently answered.
I like the idea that you have to pay more money for the numerous counties that you list in the directory. It always upset me to see someone listed in my area and the other 100 counties in NC because if they were contracted by someone for work in my area, then they would just contact me to do it. Which would give me a smaller piece of the pie after the middle man got paid.
ANYWAY, thanks to you, Robert, and all your support staff for a job well done. Donna
