Thank you Annette and Glenda. I find this thread very interesting. It is highlighting the differences and similarities between the states. I added "consistantly" when I realized we don't  have consistancy between the counties in how the documents are indexed. It highlights the importance of using a local abstractor who will know from experience the methods used locally to index and display the documents.

Both of you are from different states but your answers would probably be considered correct for some of the counties here in Texas. My own answers would probably be incorrect for some counties outside of my little area in Texas. Our proffession depends on our expertise and understanding of the local records. Each of us is tested everyday by our clients and E&O providers. Our final grade can only be measured by the number of years we have successfully submitted to the daily testing of our expertise with the local records. My score would be 15 years hoping for 30 but only in the counties I serve.

The question I asked about the records from the Republic Of Texas was put in for fun but it turns out to be the only one that might receive a consistant answer from all abstractors here in Texas.

Shannon, I applaud your efforts to design a test and from what I understand you have already designed a very good nationwide test.
