Good!  Wanted to ask about this...what would you do?  I had someone call me today because they were in another state and doing a Georgia county search online and to their horror, the copies were not available!! (hee, hee)!  Apparently told their customer they would have the search done today.  Well, I couldn't fill the request; (someone else did, I'm sure)-wonder if their client knows they are relying on online records.  Here, online records are not accurate; a limited # of liens are online, no civil and what about verifying the legal??  Assignments?  Just today, a seasoned abstractor got a call; should know better, was in a hurry, relied on the online records (and was in the actual county deed room), missed not 1, not 2 but 3 loans that were not online!  This person got chewed out real bad and was livid!  So...what would you charge someone for getting the copies, when you know darn well they did the "search" online and the copies are not available to them?  I do doc. ret. for companies @ a reasonable rate when they are a regular customer, who send me many requests and real searches.  However, have a problem w/this--these people are taking work from abstractors who actually do the work in the courthouse and care about the quality of work returned.  Don't really care to get the copies for them & just  don't feel right about it.  Judy, had a sign here not too long ago posted in a local courthouse "learn title searches-$65 course"--1 afternoon type thing.
