Lisa, as I said previously, it is a list that should not be publicly displayed. Correct me if I am wrong Loretta, isn't there one of these lists on the notary board, not GMN but on NR?
I agree that there are some companies that go thru bad spells. We all do at some time or another. And I also think that to add someone onto this list there needs to be sufficient evidence. Such as, how many times you tried calling, how many days past due it is, the companies responses, how many times and in which way you sent them their bill.
I have a former client who is also listed here on SOT that owes me $1200.00 They were a great client, always paid after the deal closed, even listed us on the HUD, but they sent us a boat load of recordings the day before the state increased the recording fees. Of course the UPS drop came in the afternoon and we were all in the courts and had no way to get them all out the same day. Keep in mind they didn't tell us they were being sent. So we ended up fronting almost $400 in shortages on the recording fees. Why, because they were a good client. WRONG, they stiffed us. And the other $800 is from searches they won't pay us for because they said "They never closed so we can't pay you" They literally laughed at me in the phone and yelled, I mean loud voice mean yelled at Susan on the phone.
I have negatively reviewed them on here. But I just don't think that is enough.
So what are we to do. Collections hasn't worked and since they are in Maryland, I need to file there against them.
I guess what I am trying to say is that perhaps we can, among ourselves, emailed privately, share our bad clients, keep our own lists and share to those who email us directly and provide them info at our own discretion and not publicize the list. And once that client is paid, remove them from the listing.
