I don't know which counties you are referring to but I just went through the NETR listing from "A" to "G" of online counties and looked at 28 counties in Michigan. Most offereed no connection to the Internet. A few offered a web site only. Two counties, Eaton and Emmett offered access by subscription only.
Finally when I came to the "G" section was I able to find a couple of counties publishing the images online. I wanted to look at who claimed ownership of the indexes and images and what the disclaimers were.

Jodi, you may be being told the programs, images and indexes are exactly the same, but the attorneys for the counties and companies placing this information online evidently do not agree.
