I am pretty sure I heard through Source of Title that First American is buying up the real estate services part of Experian.  Please correct me if I'm wrong on that. First American isn't going away, they seem to be snapping up smaller companies, and smaller parts of larger companies, all over the place.  First American bought up a company I worked for some years back called Infinity, now known as First American Real Estate Services (FARES).  FANLA and FAELS are all part of this gargantua. Seems a wise business move, if you are a top title-insurance company, to own a lot of abstract-information and document-retrieval companies.
