Lisa,

I do not do signings for $50.00. I do primarily attorney's closings involving disbusement of funds, etc. for $300.0 and up. I will do a witness signing if the title company is willing to pay a decent fee starting at $125.00. I prefer not to deal with signing services because of the bad press they receive on the notary boards. Many of them are small and undercapitalized which results in the signing agent's having to wait for his/her payment... not to mention that the signing agent as the last man on the totem pole inherits their problems with the late transmission of closing documents. 

My concern with my original posting is the degree to which notaries in this area may not be able to correct the record in the event that a libelous posting may have been made, and the degree to which they may need legal representation to set the record straight.
