I am the President and owner of Secured Title so unprofessionally referenced by Ms. Desmarais. I was referred to this site and posting by another abstractor that does work in the state. They felt it was best that I know what was being written.
As adults, let us always remember that there are different versions of any situation.
First, we did not receive any notice from Ms. Desmarais concerning her vacation. We left numerous voicemails for her concerning the recording of the original Deed of Trust(at least5 voicemails) that went unreturned, even to this day. For all we know, the original DOT is still at her house. Literally, she has NEVER called us on this situation.
I have personally phoned Ms Desmarais(yesterday at 12:08) to discuss this situation and she has failed to call me. I have requested proof that she notified us(a fax confirmation or a sent e-mail) Still nothing. If we missed it and caused the problem, we would handle this differently and be happy to pay her full fee. We are rationale
When we could not get the original DOT recorded because it was delivered to her house, we had to contract with a notary to travel to the borrower's house, have a new DOT signed, and then driven to the courthouse for an update and recording. This cost Secured Title $200.00. Several members of our staff work hours on this situation so the mortgage broker, lender & borrower were taken care of. Luckily, we found a timely solution.
As an organization, we strive to be a great business partner to our abstractors & closers. We routinely issue bonuses(only company I know of that does that) and awards to them for a job well done.
So I ask again, please forward documentation that you notified us in writing of your vacation, & I will gladly pay you for the services at the agreed rate. If you do not have this documentation, please refrain form these very unprofessional action on this board.
I am still amazed that you can respond to these postings, yet you cannot call me back.
