Does an appraiser normally get paid even if the loan does not close?  OF COURSE!!!!

Let me also go so far as to say, as the owner of Statewide Settlement, Inc., a TITLE COMPANY and Countywide Abstract, Inc., a SEARCH/ABSTRACT COMPANY, the staff at Countywide certainly bill Statewide for every search ordered and processed.  If, however, the staff at Statewide cancel the order prior to the abstractor processing it, then no harm, no foul and no bill.

To ALL of my fellow title company owners, remember, your fall-out should have no bearing on paying for the services provided by third party vendors (abstractors)...JT
