Not too long ago I heard one of the new abstractors arguing with her client. She said, "No, you don't understand. They acquired the property by deed of trust, not by warranty deed." :)

According to some companies, even an untrained abstractor is no longer neccessary. The work can be done totally by computer or with just a little assistance from a six dollar a day employee in India or China. Never mind these poor people can make a month's pay by selling the account information of just one person over the Internet.
