In Pennsylvania, our County Recorders have very strict requirements for documents presented for recording.  Some won't even accept documents for recording without a legal description and an APN.

Although there's no statewide standard for recording docs that I'm aware of, these counties are remarkably consistent in their requirements.  It may be a pain for the lenders, but it sure makes for an easier paper trail.
