Marc - If you think you have a basis for collection why don't you start the collection process and let the courts decide whether or not you are owed the money.  If the judge finds in your favor, any and all amounts paid to collect these amounts including costs of filing suit and attorneys fees are awarded on top of the amounts past due.  If you are able to file in your small claims court, this court's fees are relatively low compared to those in higher courts.  I think, like you said, nothing is going to be resolved on this forum.
