Hey Kurt,
Maybe the next winter conference - you won't ever catch me in Florida in the summer! I don't know how you guys can put up with the heat - Ohio gets too hot for me in the summer time. 
I know that Florida was a consideration back in January. Several factors were discussed in the decision making process. The board thought it would be nice to get a little farther west to try to include some of the people out there. Price is always a concern also. We want to be sure to find an affordable destination that us abstractors can afford.
Keep lobbying - I'm sure a lot of us northerners could be convinced to get out of the snow for a weekend.
