Why wouldn't they - they have no accountability for what they do. It is either the abstractors or the insurance companies that are the ones paying for their actions. There needs to be some type of action taken on by the underwriters that stop all this and require searches to be performed or there is no insurance. That is what one title attorney here told me - it is the underwriters that we need to be informing of what is going on - it will matter to them. Of course, as time goes on and the pain of claims is felt, hopefully they will be smart enough to start questioning it. Realistically, why in the heck would I need something funded in as little as 24 hours. It is not being done for the borrower sake. It is in the hand's of people that the sooner it closes, the sooner they get paid.
